SCSC's Sarah Morrison Appointed to AESA's Executives in Residence Program

The Association of Educational Service Agencies (AESA) is proud to announce that Sarah Morrison, Director of Teaching and Learning and the Regional COMPASS Supervisor at South Central Service Cooperative (SCSC), has been selected to participate in AESA’s prestigious 2025-2026 Executives in Residence (EIR) program.

The EIR program is designed to develop emerging national leaders within Educational Service Agencies (ESAs) by immersing them in a collaborative, mentorship-focused experience. Through active participation in strategic conversations, sharing of effective practices, and involvement in special initiatives, participants like Ms. Morrison will enhance their leadership abilities and grow their professional networks.

Ms. Morrison is a proven leader with over 15 years of experience in instruction, literacy, and strategic leadership. She has led initiatives in standards implementation, MTSS, culturally proficient leadership, and equity-focused planning. Through partnerships with the Minnesota Department of Education and regional cooperatives, she builds collaborative frameworks that support educators and improve student outcomes—all grounded in a strong commitment to equity and systems change.

“Sarah’s depth of experience, strategic mindset, and unwavering commitment to equity make her an ideal choice for the EIR program,” said Joan Wade, AESA Executive Director. “She not only leads with purpose but lifts others through collaboration and clarity—exactly the kind of leader we’re proud to include in this cohort.”

The EIR program will begin on July 15, 2025, during AESA’s Summer Leadership Conference, and will continue through July 2026. Over the course of the year, Ms. Morrison and her peers will explore critical issues facing ESAs today, with a focus on advocacy, policy development, and expanding the impact of service agencies nationwide.
