The SCSC COMPASS American Indian Education supports districts across Minnesota in strengthening equitable, culturally responsive practices that honor and uplift American Indian students, families, and communities. We strive to ensure that all students have access to meaningful, rigorous learning experiences that reflect their identities, cultures, and histories.
We partner with schools and districts to support culturally responsive and culturally sustaining practices that center the voices, experiences, and sovereignty of American Indian communities. Our approach emphasizes relationship-building, community engagement, and the integration of Indigenous perspectives into teaching, learning, and school systems.
Support is customized to meet your unique needs, offering a variety of services such as professional learning, coaching, and implementation guidance. We aim to strengthen systems and instructional practices that support the success, wellbeing, and belonging of American Indian students.
COMPASS support is available at no cost to districts, charter, and Tribal schools seeking to strengthen their American Indian Education efforts. We believe in fostering respectful, inclusive learning environments where American Indian students and communities are valued, represented, and supported.
