The SCSC COMPASS Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education (EC/ECSE) supports districts across Minnesota by promoting equitable access to high-quality, developmentally appropriate early learning experiences. We strive to create inclusive, welcoming, and engaging environments where every child and family is valued and supported, regardless of background or circumstance.
We partner with schools, programs, and districts to implement culturally responsive, evidence-based practices grounded in the Successful Learner Equation. Our approach recognizes that children are always learning and that success is built through strong connections between families, communities, schools, and systems. This framework ensures that each child’s unique strengths, culture, and experiences are honored while supporting their growth and development.
Support is customized to meet your unique needs, offering a variety of services such as implementation guidance, professional learning, and systems alignment. We aim to strengthen early childhood practices and partnerships across settings, ensuring developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction and equitable opportunities for all learners.
COMPASS support is available at no cost to districts seeking to strengthen their early childhood and ECSE efforts. We believe in fostering collaborative systems where families, communities, schools, and the state work together to support every child’s success.
