The SCSC Executive Search Program assists member local governments to recruit all department head level positions: administrator, manager, HR director, Finance Director, Public works director, city county engineer, etc. SCSC will also assist in placing interim administrators and city clerks.
Services include:
- Overview of process meeting
- Create position profile with input from Council, Board, Staff, and Community
- Recruit candidates
- Receive and process applications
- Provide preliminary screening of candidates and make interview recommendations
- Assist Council or Board with the interview process
- Facilitate selection of new administrator or manager
- Offer contract options
- Develop contract
- Mentor and coach the new City Administrator during the first two years, including a virtual introduction to area administrators and scheduled check-ins (monthly for six months, then quarterly/as needed).
- Remain available for questions from the Administrator, Mayor, or Council, and facilitate meetings between them upon request.
- At the direction of the city council and in cooperation with the City Attorney, SCSC staff will present an employment agreement and negotiate with the chosen candidate.
- Call or hold virtual meetings with top five candidates to perform management/leadership assessments and PXT assessment.
- Prepare and summarize support documents and conduct background checks
