The South Central Service Cooperative’s Social Workers Community of Practice (CoP) brings together social workers across the region to build connections, share insights, and strengthen practices that support the social–emotional well-being of students and families.
Social workers in Birth - Grade 12 play a crucial role navigating complex systems, advocate for student needs, and coordinating services that promote positive outcomes for students and communities. The Social Workers CoP provides a collaborative space for professionals who share these responsibilities to explore challenges, exchange strategies, and deepen their expertise.
Purpose & Activities
Members of the Social Workers CoP will:
- Engage in ongoing conversations about emerging trends, best practices, and policy changes in school social work
- Share tools, strategies, and resources that support social–emotional learning, mental health supports, crisis intervention, family engagement, and equity-centered practice
- Reflect on real-world practice challenges and explore solutions together in a supportive, peer-driven environment
- Build professional relationships and regional networks that enrich daily practice
Who Should Join
This community is designed for:
- School social workers
- Licensed social workers serving youth and familieis in the region.
Teams and individuals from member districts are encouraged to participate, whether new to school social work or experienced practitioners looking to expand their network and practice knowledge.
