LETRS Volume I, SCSC Cohort A - READ Act PD (Oct. – May)
LETRS training meets the Minnesota READ Act professional development requirement for Phase I educators. Participant outcomes include developing an understanding of and ability to apply Structured Literacy and evidence-based literacy practices.
LETRS Volume I focuses on: the Challenges of Learning to Read; the Speech Sounds of English; Beginning Phonics and Advanced Decoding, along with Word Recognition and Spelling.
LETRS Volume I course content is broken down into four units of study. Participants will engage in independent study through reading and online-learning activities for each unit. Four 6-hour in-person professional development sessions are required for successful completion of this course. Additionally, participants will attend a 30-minute virtual cohort launch session to learn course expectations and how to navigate the online learning platform.
