SCSC LETRS Early Childhood 2025–26 (READ Act PD) – Launch
LETRS Early Childhood training meets the Minnesota READ Act professional development requirement for Phase I Early Childhood educators. Participant outcomes include developing an understanding of and ability to apply Structured Literacy and evidence-based literacy practices.
LETRS Early Childhood content includes: Early Literacy Foundations, Oral Language Connections, Phonological "PH"oundations, and Print Knowledge ABC to XYZ.
Participants will engage in independent study through reading and online-learning activities for each unit. Two 6-hour in-person professional development sessions are required for successful completion of this course. Additionally, participants will attend a 30-minute virtual launch session to learn course expectations and how to navigate the online learning platform.

- Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, 4 – 4:30 p.m., LETRS Launch
- Friday, November 21, 2025, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Units 1 & 2
- Friday, February 20, 2026, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Unit 3 & 4
- Inclement Weather Make-Up Date: Friday, February 27, 2026
Materials: Please note – Districts are responsible for securing LETRS Early Childhood training manuals and online course access for participants. SCSC will provide all printed handouts.
