SCSC LETRS Volume 2, Unit 8

LETRS training meets the Minnesota READ Act professional development requirement for Phase I educators. Participant outcomes include developing an understanding of and ability to apply Structured Literacy and evidence-based literacy practices.

LETRS Volume 2 focuses on: Oral Language and Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, and the Reading-Writing Connection.

‍Prerequisite: Successful completion of LETRS Volume 1, Units 1–4 and Volume 1 post-test.

LETRS Volume 2 course content is broken down into four units of study. Participants will engage in independent study through reading and online-learning activities for each unit. Four 6-hour in-person professional development sessions are required for successful completion of this course.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Unit 5, In-Person
  • Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2026: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Unit 6, In-Person
  • Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2027: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Unit 7, In-Person
  • Wednesday, March 31, 2027: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Unit 8, In-Person
  • Inclement Weather Make-up Date: Wed. April 7 , 2027: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Materials: Please note — Districts are responsible for securing LETRS training manuals and online course access for participants. SCSC will provide all participant handouts.
